About the healing pod
Rooted in Compassion,
Guided by You
Hi, I’m Drew—an experienced counsellor and a deep believer in the quiet strength of being truly seen. My approach to counselling is grounded in the radical act of embracing who you really are, beyond the masks, expectations, or survival strategies you’ve had to carry. Together, we’ll explore your story with compassion and honesty—turning coping into clarity, and survival into strength.
I work from a strengths-based, collaborative, and trauma-informed foundation, drawing on a client-centered, integrative, solution-focused, and holistic philosophy. That’s a lot of words—but at its core, it means I meet you where you are. We build a relationship based on trust, and walk through your inner landscape at a pace that feels safe and empowering.
My academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University, a Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University, and I’m currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. These studies have given me tools—but it’s real life that’s taught me how to use them with care and nuance.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with people across a wide spectrum of lived experiences—from folks navigating systemic oppression and trauma, to high-functioning professionals wrestling with burnout, grief, or identity. These encounters have shaped my deep respect for the complexity of the human experience. Everyone has a story. Everyone is doing their best with what they’ve been given. And sometimes, we all need a little support to find our way through.
I’m not here to diagnose you from across the room or hand you a worksheet and send you on your way. I’m here to listen. To collaborate. To offer insights when they’re useful and space when you need it. My goal is to create a space that feels steady, spacious, and real—a pod, if you will, where you can exhale and begin again.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, grief, transitions, identity questions, or simply the weight of being human, you’re welcome here. Let’s explore what healing might look like—for you.
With Love,
Drew Lisso
